Let's face it…kids of all ages love to color. It's a fun way to spend a rainy afternoon in summer time or a cold snowy wintry day.

You already know how much I love creating free printable coloring pages for you, but some are more fun to create than others…and this is one of them!

Fun fact: I'm a total beach girl. For most of the year, I live in Florida and live just 20 minutes from the beach. I usually go to the beach at least twice a week…and sometimes I go more often that that.

In the summers, we head to New Hampshire. And we live 30 minutes from the beach. And while the water is too cold for me to go in, I often drop my big kids at the beach with their cousins. My cousin and sister are two of my best friends and their kids are best friend with my kids, so they love spending time together.

And even though we have older kids, I often use kids crafts or these printable sheets to keep them occupied on days where they can't hang out at the beach or spend time outside. Who wouldn't want to color a pretty mermaid and improve their fine motor skills at the same time?

All that to say, I love the beach and all things beach related…including mermaids.

There are 10 different images to color in this mermaid printable coloring pack. There are mermaids with long hair and mermaids with short hair.

You can print the whole file off at once or just choose a page or 2. If you plan on printing lots of coloring pages at home, you may want to consider a laser jet printer. It’s so much cheaper to print with one.

While I love coloring with crayons, my preferred method of coloring is with colored pencils. It’s so much easier to color in those smaller areas…especially words.

You can use any colored pencils, but my favorites by far are these colored pencils. They’re more expensive, but they color amazingly and they last a lot longer than regular colored pencils.

If you have little kids who will be coloring, I recently discovered these awesome colored pencils for kids. They’re very similar to the ones I love, but they’re a lot cheaper.
