I don’t know what it is, but there’s just something about babies…whether they be human babies, animal babies, or even baby Yoda. 🙂 Everyone loves babies. And if you make these Baby Chick Nutter Butter Cookies for Easter, everyone will love YOU!
If you’re a regular here at Fun Happy Home, you know that I’m all about easy recipes. The great thing about these Baby Chick Cookies for Easter is that the “cookies” are already made. They’re Nutter Butter cookies that you decorate to look like a baby chick…just like we did with our Olaf Cookies and our Love Bug Cookies.
These cookies are super easy to make and if you want to make them with your little ones, you can opt to use a microwave to melt your candy melts instead of a double boiler.
Baby Chick Nutter Butter Cookies Ingredients
1 package of Nutter Butter cookies
1 bag of yellow candy melts
1 bag of white candy melts
1 small container of coconut oil
1 package of small edible eyes
1 bag of M&M’s, orange ones picked out
2 disposable piping bags
1 cookie sheet, fitted with parchment paper or silicone baking mat
How To Make Baby Chick Easter Cookies
Using a double boiler or microwave, melt the yellow candy melts.
Once the yellow has been melted, add in 1-4 tablespoons of coconut oil to help thin the chocolate. I would start with 1 tablespoon and work your way up til the candy is a super smooth consistency that’s thin but not runny.
Dip a Nutter Butter cookie into the yellow candy melt.
Using a candy dipping scoop, flip over the Nutter Butter cookie until completely coated.
Carefully pick up the Nutter Butter and tap the edge of the pot to get rid of the excess chocolate.
Place the dipped Nutter Butter onto the cookie sheet.
Repeat steps with 11 more Nutter Butter cookies.
Let the chocolate harden.
While the yellow is hardening, scoop the rest of the yellow chocolate into a piping bag and clean out the pot.
Melt the white candy melts.
Repeat step with the coconut oil.
Scoop some of the white chocolate into the piping bag.
Cut off the tip of the piping bag.
Pipe on the lines for the cracked egg on the top and bottom of the Nutter Butter.
Fill in the white lines.
Add a small dollop of white chocolate onto the back of the eyes.
Place eyes onto the yellow part of the Nutter Butter.
Dip the orange M&M into the still melted yellow chocolate.
Place in the middle below the eyes.
Let chocolate harden before enjoying these awesome cookies!
