One of my favorite drinks to get the fall chills out of my body is hot chocolate. No one ever has regretted drinking hot chocolate when they're feeling cold.
Hot chocolate bombs are always a hit in the fall, and they taste amazing too – just like a delicious cup of hot cocoa but better because it has sprinkles on top!

The first time I had a hot chocolate bomb was when my friend gave me one as a present, and it was the most delicious cup of hot chocolate I'd ever had. There is nothing better than watching this incredible sphere of chocolate burst open in a mug of hot milk.
So it's no surprise that the hashtag #hotchocolatebombs has been used nearly 200 million times! Hot chocolate bombs became the rage when Oprah listed a “Snowman Hot Chocolate Bomb” on her “Oprah's Favorite Things” list back in 2018.
Then Tik Tok made them even more famous because people love watching videos of the hot cocoa bombs melting in the cups.
This recipe for fall hot chocolate bombs is the perfect way to stay warm during the cold fall months. The best part is that you can make these at home with just a few ingredients.
This recipe uses candy melts, sprinkles, and hot cocoa mix for a sweet treat that will keep any cold-weather day warm.

Fall Hot Chocolate Bomb Ingredients

How To Make The Best Hot Chocolate Bombs
Place a big glass plate in the refrigerator now, because you'll need it later. Are you ready to melt the chocolate?
Place the chocolate melting wafers in a microwave-safe bowl and melt them in the microwave as directed on the package.

To make the chocolate shell, put a small spoonful of melted chocolate in a semi-sphere silicone chocolate mold cavity, then use the back of a spoon or a small pastry brush to coat the entire cavity.
Pay special attention to the sides of the mold. You don't want to miss any spots.
Repeat on all of the mold cavities. Then you are going to set the mold in the freezer for 5 minutes.
Go ahead and remove the mold from the freezer, and repeat for the second coat of chocolate. Set the mold in the freezer again for an additional 5 minutes.

Now it's time to fill the hot chocolate bombs, so the first thing is to heat a small glass plate in the microwave for 2 minutes.
Remove the plate and the molds from the freezer. Next, remove the chocolate spheres from the mold and set them on the cold plate.

Take one sphere, place upside down on the hot plate to melt the edge of the chocolate, and fill with one tablespoon of hot cocoa powder.
Next, place another sphere upside down on the hot plate to soften the edge of the chocolate, and attach the two spheres together to seal the cocoa bomb. Repeat until you have assembled all of the cocoa bombs.



Add orange candy to a Ziplock bag or piping bag and heat in the microwave for 30 seconds.

Remove, and massage the bag. If not fully melted, heat for 10-second intervals until fully melted. Snip the very corner of the baggie with scissors, and pipe the candy over the top of each cocoa bomb.

Add sprinkles.

To use, fill a mug with 6 ounces to 1 cup of hot milk. Drop the cocoa bomb in, then stir. Then all the magic happens.
When the chocolate balls burst open, all the goodies inside float to the top. Then it's time to give a quick stir, sit back, enjoy, and have yourself the perfect cup of hot chocolate.
You can also customize hot chocolate bombs with mini marshmallows, mini chocolate chips, white hot chocolate mix, white chocolate chips, or just about anything you like in your hot chocolate.
