If you're looking for a family activity that will help your kids appreciate and embrace the reason we celebrate Easter, you're going to love this Easter Game. It's a Printable Matching Game that you can play as a family.
This game allows you to help your kids improve their memory and matching skills while teaching them Biblical truths about the reason we celebrate Easter.
This Easter game can also be used as a family devotional time. Each time someone matches 2 cards, have that person read the passage of Scripture found on the matching cards. You can then discuss what you've read.
How Does This Easter Game Work?
You will print off pages 4-7 using your printers double-sided printing feature. If your printer doesn't allow for double-sided printing, you can print off each page separately and then glue or tape the pages together with the blank sides facing each other.
You'll then cut out each of the cards, mix them up, and place them picture side down on the table.
Allow the youngest player to go first. On each turn, each player turns 2 cards over. If the cards match, the player gets to keep the pair. Encourage your kids to see who can get the most matches.
I am amazed at how well games like this work to not only improve children's cognitive abilities, but how much they retain from the stories they learn as a result of games like this.
After reading these passages a few times, your kids can probably tell you what happened for each card without even having to look up the Bible verses. {I love how kids' minds work!}
Tips & Tricks for This Easter Game
I highly recommend printing this matching game on heavy cardstock for durability reasons.
Laminating the game pieces will also keep this game looking great for a long time. I use this laminator home. I've had it for over 10 years and it still works great.
I use this laminator at the church. It's heavy duty and works more quickly than the one I have at home, but it's definitely more expensive. 🙂
