Did you know that Beetlejuice 2 is coming to theaters in September 2024? Whether you're watching the original or celebrating the release of Beetlejuice 2, there's no better way than with a delectable and eerie treat board inspired by this iconic Halloween movie! This Beetlejuice Buttercream Board is not only a visual treat but also a sweet, indulgent experience that will leave your guests in awe.
This frosting board is perfect for Halloween parties, movie nights, or any festive gathering. Plus it's as fun to make as it is to eat.
I've shared before that I'm not a huge Halloween fan, but some of my kids LOVE it. My oldest daughter has probably already watched Hocus Pocus multiple times this month as well as watching Beetlejuice in order to prepare for Beetlejuice 2.
Since I don't love Halloween, I don't decorate for Halloween. When the twins were little, they were super disappointed by this, but now we compromise and I make 90 bajillion Halloween treats instead of decorating.
This Beetlejuice Buttercream Board makes the perfect addition to a Halloween party dessert spread.
What Is A Buttercream Board?
If this is the first time you've heard of a Buttercream Board, it’s basically a dessert charcuterie board that features delicious buttercream frosting along with an array of sweet treats like chocolate chips, cookies, marshmallows and your favorite candy along with salty snacks like pretzel sticks and pretzel chips. These frosting boards are just one of the latest in the charcuterie board craze and they are the perfect way to add a little festive flare to your next gathering.
I'm slightly obsessed with frosting boards right now, so I've shared quite a few recently! I'm totally torn as to which is the best Halloween Charcuterie board.
Items You’ll Need for Your Frosting Board
White Baking Sheet
The white baking sheet acts as the base and display platform for this Beetlejuice Frosting Board. And while this is designed for baking cookies, I wouldn't bake anything on it so it maintains its pristine look. If you desperately need to use it for baking, make sure you cover it with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
1M Open Star Piping Tip
The 1M Star Piping Tip is an indispensable tool for achieving the look of this super Beetlejuicr Frosting Board. Its unique star-shaped design creates beautifully defined patterns and textures that really bring this dessert board to life. The tip’s larger size ensures that the frosting flows out smoothly and evenly, creating a professional-looking finish that’s not easily achievable with smaller or differently shaped tips.
Disposable Decorating Bags or Frosting Bags:
These decorating bags are convenient tools for any baking enthusiast. Being disposable, they offer a hassle-free cleanup after a decorating session.
They’re durable enough to hold and dispense thick frostings, and with their flexibility, decorators can easily control the flow. They can be used with various tips for different decorating techniques, making them perfect for everything from cupcakes to intricate cake designs.
Feel free to use non-disposable pastry bags or frosting bags if you prefer, but if you're like me and the idea of washing them makes you want to poke your eyes out, go with disposable.

How To Make A Beetlejuice Buttercream Board
Begin by preparing your work space. Fit two pastry bags with a 1 M Pastry Tip.
Fill one piping bag with the white buttercream and the other with the black buttercream. If you have just one pastry tip, start with the black buttercream and then proceed with the white.
On a clean baking sheet or a food-safe serving board, use the black buttercream to draw guide lines.
Place small, short dollops of black buttercream at the top right and bottom left corners of the tray. These will serve as your starting and ending points.
Next, connect these points by piping diagonal black stripes of frosting starting from the top right corner.
Alternate white stripes with black stripes to achieve the Beetlejuice aesthetic. Make sure to leave space between stripes for your treats.
Once you are finished with your stripes, start placing your baked goods on the board.
Place the chocolate cupcakes at the top right and bottom left corners.
Position the Little Debbie Frosted Fudge Cakes at the top left and bottom left corners. Fill in the remaining spaces with brownie bites, OREO cookies, Mini OREO cookies, and Mini Chips Ahoy! cookies. Arrange them in a way that's visually appealing and balances out the colors.
To add more spookiness, fill in any gaps with the black gummy pumpkins and black licorice wheels.
Drape gummy worms across the board for that creepy-crawly touch that screams Halloween.
If you're feeling extra festive, sprinkle some colorful or Halloween-themed sprinkles over the buttercream stripes.
Serve your Beetlejuice Buttercream Board with plates and spoons, and watch as your guests marvel at your creation!
