Star Wars Oreos

How can you not love seeing Chewbacca and Princess Leia in Oreo form?!?
Chewbacca Oreos
Here's what you'll need for your Chewbacca Oreos.
- 1/2 (15.35 ounce) package Oreo Chocolate Sandwich Cookies
- 1/2 (12 ounce) package black candy melts wafers
- 1 (12 ounce) package milk chocolate chips
- Candy eyeballs
- Chocolate sprinkles
- White nonpareil sprinkles
You're going to be amazed at how fun and easy these chocolate-dipped Star Wars Oreos are to make.
You'll want to start by preparing a baking sheet. I like to use either parchment paper or a silicone mat, but you could even get away with wax paper if you needed to.
Melt milk chocolate chips in the microwave in 30-second increments at 50% power. You'll want to stir well between 30 second increments. When your chocolate is smooth, you're good to go.
If you're having difficulty getting your chocolate to a smooth consistency, you can add a teaspoon of coconut oil or a little bit of vegetable oil to help smooth it out. Do not add water as it will cause the chocolate to seize up.
Dip each cookie into the melted chocolate. As you remove your Oreos, you'll want to tap them gently against the side of the bowl, allowing excess candy to return to the bowl. If air bubbles form, you can pop them with a toothpick.
Place the OREO onto the parchment paper. Immediately press two candy eyeballs onto the cookie.

Sprinkle with chocolate sprinkles (or jimmies if you prefer to call them that). Allow sprinkles to set completely before moving on to the next step. If you're in a hurry, you can place the cookies in the fridge or freezer in a single layer.

Once your cookies are set, gently shake or tap them to remove the extra sprinkles.
Next, melt your black candy melts according to the package directions. If the candy is too thick to pour, add 1 teaspoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening. Stir well. Do not add water. You can add up to 1 tablespoon of coconut oil per bag of candy wafers.
Transfer melted candy to a piping bag or ziploc storage bag with the corner snipped off. Create a solid line across the cookie.
Use a pair of sterilized tweezers to put white nonpareil sprinkles along the black line.

Allow cookies to set completely at room temperature or refrigerate for faster results.

You'll want to begin by preparing a baking sheet like you did for the Chewbacca Oreos. Line the baking sheet with waxed paper, parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
Melt white candy coating according to package directions. If the candy coating is too thick to pour, you'll want to add up to 1 teaspoon of coconut oil or vegetable shortening. Stir well. Do not add water. You can add up to 1 tablespoon of coconut oil per bag of candy wafers.
Dip each cookie into the melted candy melts. As you remove your Oreos, you'll want to tap them gently against the side of the bowl, allowing excess candy to return to the bowl. If air bubbles form, you can pop them with a toothpick.
Place the cookie onto the parchment paper. Allow to set completely before proceeding to the next step. If you're in a hurry, cookies can be refrigerated or placed in the freezer in a single layer to speed up the process.

Melt milk chocolate chips in the microwave in 30-second increments at 50% power. You'll want to stir well between 30 second increments. When your chocolate is smooth, you're good to go.
Transfer melted chocolate to a piping bag or ziploc bag with the corner snipped. Use the chocolate to create a hairline and then fill the cookie from the hairline to the edge.

Immediately press two unwrapped Rolo Caramel candies against each cookie to make Princess Leia's iconic hair buns.
Using a toothpick to dab a tiny amount of melted white candy melts to the back of the candy eyes and to a heart sprinkle, placing each to form Leia’s face.

Allow cookie to set completely at room temperature or refrigerate for faster results.
Aren't these seriously the cutest cookies?!? You'll want to store them in an airtight container at room temperature.
