Homemade Soap: How to Make Unicorn Soap

I love crafting with my kiddos. It's a fun way for us to spend time together. It feeds my creative side and I think it does the same for my kids. We've created all sorts of things over the years. When my twins first moved in with us, I was totally in a soap making phase. I created a zillion different fun soaps in different colors with different molds.

It's been a long time since we've whipped up soaps at home, but I'm starting to tackle some neglected crafting times again. I thought you'd all enjoy seeing this Homemade Soap How To so that you can create your own DIY unicorn soap. Your kids will enjoy creating these with you!

Homemade Soap Supplies:

• 3 (about ⅕ pound) cubes Shea Butter Melt & Pour Soap Base
• 2 drops soap coloring (for each color you want to use)
• Unicorn candy/soap mold
• Pyrex measuring cup
• Wooden stir sticks

Homemade Soap Directions:

1. Melt the soap base in a glass measuring cup in the microwave for 30 seconds. If not fully melted, heat in 10-second intervals until fully melted. {If you're making multiple colors of soap, mix each color in a separate measuring cup.}
2. Stir in soap colorant and mix til well blended.
3. Pour into mold.
4. Let set for 1-2 hours.
5. Remove from mold.

If you're planning on giving these soaps as gifts, place them in cellophane treat bags and tie with a ribbon.
