I was only 23 when I found myself in the Minneapolis airport unable to pull my suitcase and slurring my speech. I remember the nice flight attendant helping me get my bag on the plane. And while I'm sure she assumed I was drunk since I was a little unstable on my feet and slurring my speech, I hadn't had anything to drink. I had no idea what was wrong with me. I was scared out of my mind and my slurred speech made it hard to articulate what was going on. I would later find out that I had experienced a mini-stroke. I was shocked!! I thought strokes were for old people, not young healthy people just out of college. The reality is strokes can happen to anyone at any age. That's why I think it's so important to share these stroke symptoms & stroke warning signs with you!
