Christmas has come and gone. Your kids have received lots of presents from family and friends and now it's time to write thank you notes. While it may not seem like a big deal, teaching your kids to write thank you notes is a skill that will serve them well in life. These Printable Thank You Notes will come in handy as you teach your kids this important life skill!
I'll admit that I haven't always been good about this. Ok…That's pretty much the understatement of the century. I'm terrible at this, but I'm working on changing! 🙂
When we adopted our oldest daughters they were 9 and 12 and didn't speak any English, so I didn't make them write thank you notes. When the twins moved in with us, they couldn't count to 10 and didn't know the alphabet, so again, I let the thank you notes slide. Now that life is a little less chaotic at our house, it's time to teach my kiddos to get in the habit of writing thank you notes.
My kids still need a little help when it comes to this, so with that in mind I created these Printable Thank You Notes for Kids. I figured that many of your kids could also use a little extra help, so I decided to share it with you as well!
If your kids are too old to use the printable, this is the formula that I'm going with for teaching my kids.
- Dear so and so…
- Thank you for the {insert name of gift}
- Write something you enjoy about the gift (i.e. I really like to play with it (if it's a game) or I really like to sleep with it (if it's a stuffed animal) or I really like to shop there (if it's a gift card).
- From or Love or Thanks Again (or some other kind of closing greeting)
- Your child's name
It's not that hard, but it can seem like a daunting task! If your kids are younger, make sure to use this FREE Printable!
All you need to do is have your kids fill in the blanks! Easy-peasy! If your kids aren't great at spelling, that's OK. Some of my favorite notes from my kids are ones where they sounded everything out on their own.
