Simplified Saving Christmas Day 6: Sweeten Your Holidays with Honey {CLOSED}

At our house, honey is a staple…especially during this time of year when tea with honey is our remedy of choice for sore throats!  But I bet you didn't know that honey is a lot more than a sweetener!

Honey is a natural moisturizer and can be used to make wonderful homemade spa treatments.  If you're looking for a uniquely “sweet” gift, consider giving a gift basket filled with Lemon Drop Body Scrub, Honey Kissed Lip Balm, and Foaming Vanilla Honey Bath.  Throw in a loofa and you've got an over the top gift.

Honey is also a natural energizer and who doesn't need an energy boost during this time of year.   I know that I could use one!  How sweet would it be to bake up a batch of these Honey Oatmeal Spice Cookies for a friend or make this mix in a jar for a teacher.

    I love honey. It is a staple in our house. Some of our favorite uses are on pancakes or peanut butter sandwhiches. I’ll have to try some of those homemade spa treatments!

    I swear by honey and tea for sore throats, too. I lived in Alaska and kept getting sore throats (probably from the dry cold) and a girl I worked with swore by tea and honey and made me try it. Now, I use it whenever my throat is the tiniest bit scratchy and it always works.
