I love fun and easy recipes. So when I set out to make cute Easter cupcakes, I knew that they couldn't be too time consuming or difficult to make! These Easter Chick Cupcakes totally fit the bill. They're absolutely adorable and they're easy to make!

Cute Easter Cupcakes
Here's what you'll need:
- 1 Box Cake Mix & everything to make it according to directions
- Buttercream Frosting or Vanilla Frosting (You can buy it at the store or I've included a super easy recipe to make your own)
- Yellow Sugar Sprinkles (These were made with Wilton Sugar Sprinkles, but if you have a dye allergy like my kids do, you can use these dye free sugar sprinkles instead.
- Chocolate Chips
- Food Coloring (Again, if you have an allergy to dye, use dye-free food coloring.)
If you make your own buttercream frosting, you'll also need the following:
- 5 tablespoons salted butter
- 5 tablespoons shortening
- 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups confectioners' sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk

1. Prepare cupcakes according to box cake mix instructions. While your cupcakes are baking, make the buttercream frosting {recipe below} or if you're using store bought frosting, you can take this time to call a friend, clean your kitchen, or whatever else is on your to-do list.
2. Use yellow food coloring to dye your frosting until you reach the desired color. Save a small amount of buttercream frosting and dye it a bright orange.
3. Frost entire cupcake with yellow frosting.

4. Dip your cupcake into yellow sugar sprinkles.

5. Add chocolate chips to make the eyes.

6. You can also add a dab of white frosting to make the eyeball detail.
7. Using a rosette-frosting tip make “chick wings” on the sides and then sprinkle a small amount of the yellow sugar sprinkles on top.

8. Use a small amount of your orange frosting to make a beak and feet for your chick.
Voila! Super easy and super cute Easter cupcakes that will delight kids and adults alike!
