I love being online. I like blogging and Facebook and Twitter, oh my! I like it so much that I work by day as a Social Media Manager and by night as a Frugal Blogger and sometimes just for fun, I switch the two around! While I can navigate online shopping like a ninja and know how to find the best online deals, I’m not very techy. I’m leaps and bounds ahead of where I was when I started blogging, but no one that knows me well would ever describe me as a computer geek.
The problem is that when people that don’t know me well hear I’m a Social Media Manager and blogger they often start talking “geek” to me. They talk about landing page optimization and conversion rate optimization. They talk about the ins and outs of html code and my eyes start to glaze over. And I kind of feel like a fraud.
But I’ve realized that if I started talking the ins and outs of personal finance, about how to stack a manufacturers coupon with a store coupon or about the joys of shopping through a cashback site, their eyes would probably glaze over too. And that’s OK… We all have different interests and gifts.
So tell me, do you “speak geek”? And if you do, can I email you for help sometime? 🙂
