Disclosure: I’m a Silver Sponsored RoadTrip Mom! I received a Silver Ticket to #RoadTrip2013 in exchange for sharing my honest opinion about this conference. And honestly…I can’t remember the last time I was so excited about a conference!! Hope to see you there!
I’ve been talking about EW RoadTrip over the last few weeks and thinking about it a ton! It’s hard to believe that I’ll be in Cincinnati in less than 5 weeks. While 5 weeks may seem like a long time away, if you’re planning on going to RoadTrip 2013, there are things you need to start working on now!
1. Get sponsors lined up.
If you’re planning on attending and need a sponsor, now is the time to be sending out those pitches.
2. Order business cards.
There is nothing worse than realizing the day before you leave for a conference that you only have 10 business cards left, or that you changed one of your social media profile URLS and that your cards are no longer relevant. Take a look at your cards, make any needed corrections and get them ordered now so you don’t have to pay for rush shipping!
3. If you’re image conscious, start making appointments.
Make appointments to get your hair cut, colored, etc before you head to the conference. This is also the time to schedule appointments for manicures, pedicures, and any other beauty rituals you have.
4. Ask for time off work.
You would think this would go without saying, but make sure that you request time off as far in advance as possible.
5. Start thinking about what you’re going to wear.
I just joined Gwynnie Bee, a monthly subscription service which carries clothing from size 10-28. I’m planning on wearing clothing that I get from Gwynnie Bee to the conference (and you can get a free trial month of Gwynnie Bee)!
6. Gather up your 80s Gear!*
On Thursday night, we’re going to party like it’s 1985 (and eat yummy food and check out some cool products from some really cool vendors), so break out your legwarmers and Aquanet! You don’t want to miss it!
*This tip does not apply to all conferences. If you show up in legwarmers with teased hair at another conference, please do not blame me!
7. Last but definitely not least, plan your blog content for the days you’re at the conference.
There’s nothing worse than being at a conference and trying to soak up incredible information and realizing you have nothing posted to your site. Start working on posts now. You want to be able to completely focus on learning, growing, and meeting new people while you’re there.
RoadTrip 2013 is going to be 3 amazing days where you will be inspired and challenged! You don’t want to miss it! Reserve your ticket now!
