Yesterday, I shared the 52 Week Money Saving Challenge, but for some of you, saving that much might seem to be a stretch. Today I’m sharing a 365 Day Savings Challenge (also known as the Penny Challenge) that will remind you to be mindful of saving every single day.
Take the 365 Day Savings Challenge
This challenge starts with saving a penny on day 1, 2 cents on day 2 and so on and so forth. At the end of 365 days, you’ll have $667.95.
If you have more money at this time of year than later on in the year, feel free to start with $3.65 today and work backwards! Or if you have random change in your pocket, check off that amount!
The goal is to save money every single day. Maybe you have a particular trip you’d like to save for or maybe you’d like to save for Christmas. The act of physically putting money in your bank every day is a great reminder to be mindful of what you’re saving for!
You’re going to end up with a lot of change, so it’s not going to fit in your piggy bank unless you have a ginormous piggy bank. I ended up using these large mason jars! If you’re looking for something with a pop of color, these vintage mason jars would work well! They’re not quite as big, but they’re pretty! 🙂
Print out this form and check off an amount each day for the next 365 days. You may be surprised to find that once you get into saving money, you’ll put in a little extra here and there and by the end of the year you may have even more than $667.95.
If you’re looking for another great way to save money, I highly recommend that you check out Digit! I’ve saved almost $1000 since I joined in September and it has been completely effortless! You can read my Digit review here!
