Winter can be super stressful! The weather is cold and nasty. The sun seems to spend its days hiding behind clouds and gray skies. And with the dreaded flu going around, people tend to be more miserable than usual. While I can’t make winter all sunshine and palm trees (unless you move to Arizona), I do have some health wellness tips that will make winter more bearable and will help keep you happier and healthier.

Health Wellness Tips for Winter
1. Snack Smarter
Because the weather tends to be nastier, we tend to watch more TV in the winter. Plus the Winter Games are going on which means if you’re like me, you’ll spend hours on your couch mesmerized by ice skating! Thankfully, there are smarter snacks to eat. We’ve always loved Popchips at our house, but now they’ve gone nuts…literally! Popchips peanut butter nutter puffs are a deliciously sweet and salty snack that packs in 5 grams of protein per serving. Plus they’re gluten-free and non-GMO!
My daughter Shayna donned her Red, White & Blue and to support Team USA and enjoyed some nutter puffs while doing it. You can find nutter puffs at your local grocery store or on Amazon.
2. Stay hydrated
I know, you’re tired of people nagging you to drink more water. But really, you need to drink more water! I have found that it’s easier to drink water from a fun bottle. I have lots of great water bottles that I use. If drinking plain water isn’t your thing, add some fresh fruit. A lovely family at our church gave us a ton of grapefruit. It’s perfect for adding a fresh citrus-y twist to water. Also, consider drinking seltzer water. Some people find that the addition of fizzy bubbles makes it more palatable.
And if you’re looking for an adult drink, check out White Claw® Hard Seltzer. White Claw combines the simplicity of seltzer water with a spike of alcohol and an infusion of fresh fruit flavor. It’s gluten-free and only 100 calories! You can choose from flavors like Ruby Grapefruit, Black Cherry, Natural Lime, and Raspberry. You can get White Claw at these stores.
3. Get active
Getting active doesn’t just mean heading to the gym. There are so many fun ways to get in some exercise. Channel your inner Mirai Nagasu and grab your ice skates or pretend your Lindsey Vonn and grab your skis and hit the slopes.
Ice skating and skiing are a really fun way to sneak exercise in during the winter. And if you want to make exercise even more fun, add some tunes. If you’re lucky enough to have the new Apple AirPods, you’re going to want to make sure you have a PodPocket AirPods holder. The PodPocket is a brilliant idea and was conceived by a mother-son team to help keep the son from losing his AirPods. Plato wasn’t joking when he said “Necessity is the mother of invention.” and this Mother-Son team came up with quite an invention. The PodPocket is molded from high grade silicone to keep your Apple AirPods Charging Case safe and secure…and it even has a key ring and clasp to secure it to your workout bag!
4. Sweeten Things Up with Honey Supplements
BEE & YOU makes the most amazing unfiltered and unpasteurized honey called BEE & YOU Royal Jelly Raw Honey. Their honey is filled with essential proteins, carbohydrate, oils and vitamins and helps boost your immune system, increase your energy and improves your focus. And BEE & YOU also has a throat spray called BEE & YOU Propolis Raw Honey Throat Spray. This throat spray harnesses the power of propolis, a natural bee product, which when it is in its purest form provides you with at least 80 times more antioxidant content than pomegranate juice. My son has been using the throat spray to help with his horribly sore throat.
You can learn more about BEE & YOU here and you can save 20% off your purchase when you use code SPC20 between now and February 16th.
5. Wash Your Hands!
I know your mama told you this a million times, but it really does help! Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. There are so many things going around that can be prevented by washing your hands. Do it well…do it often!
I hope these health wellness tips will help you to rock your winter!
